Preferred Drugs List

 

The ProAct preferred drug list references the most commonly prescribed medications available to treat a variety of conditions. Medications are placed into levels known as “tiers” that will determine what the cost share will be for each product.

The drug list is not all-inclusive as there may be prescription drug products that do not appear. A medication may move to a lower tier at any time, while a brand name medication may move to a higher tier when a generic becomes available. On a regular basis updates may be made to the formulary which could result in a medication being moved to a new tier, therefore resulting in a change in member cost sharing.  If a member is identified as being negatively impacted by these changes, they will be notified of the change prior to the effective date when appropriate.

Please note: The preferred drug list may contain medications that are handled in a different manner than how they are outlined in the document. Even if a medication appears on the list it does not guarantee coverage under the prescription drug plan.
